Analysis
The Analysis unit of IST3M LAB is devoted to chemical characterize your bulk and nano-material through several analytical methodologies. Our chemical lab is equipped with ICP-OES, UV-Vis Spectrometer, DLS, SQUID magnetometer, Micro FTIR spectrometer and the ZEISS LIBRA200FE. We could custom prepare your sample for the analysis and develop the best strategy to extract information from it. Thanks to the collaboration with the LabCAT our analytical skills are more and more expanded. Check it out!
ICP-OES

The ICP-OES - inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry - (Thermofisher iCAP 6200 Duo upgrade) allow a fast and reliable Multi-elemental analysis down to hundreds-tens of ppb.
UV-Visible

- The Evolution 600 UV-Vis Thermo Scientific system allow a rapid and high performance collection of UV-Vis spectra from solution. The Prying Mantis Harrick accessory allow the direct analysis of very small quantity of powder sample, thanks to the diffuse reflection (DR) mode.
DLS

Based on the principles of DLS, the Brookhaven 90 Particle Size Analyzer performs fast submicron particle size measurements on a wide variety of samples and concentrations. It is an ideal instrument for measuring colloids, latexes, micelles, microemulsions, proteins, and other nanoparticles. The BI-Zeta option performs measurement of the particle zeta potential.
SQUID

The Quantum Design MPMS XL-5 SQUID magnetometer performs measurement of the magnetic properties of solid materials and solutions with high sensitivity (10–8 emu) and accuracy in a wide temperature range (2 – 400 K) using both DC (0 to ± 5 T) and AC (0.01 to 1000 Hz) magnetic field.
Micro-FTIR

The Micro-FTIR NEXUS NIXOLET FT-IR is equipped with the Continuµm Microscope accessory for IR microanalysis. The instrument allows the collection of classical IR spectra from conventional samples and the collection of spatially resolved data, combining the high –performance of the IR sampling with the microscope unit.
